To launch the Competitive Entrance Examination into the first year of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) of the University of Buea, for the 2017/2018 academic year.

THE MINISTER OF HIGHER EDUCATION

Mindful of the constitution;

Mindful of Law N° 005 of 16lhApril 2001 on the orientation of Higher Education;

Mindful of Decree N° 2011/408 of 09th December 2011 to organize the Government

Mindful of Decree N°2011/410 of 09 December 2011 organizing the Government;

Mindful of Decree N°2015/431 of October 2nd, 2015 to reshuffle the Government;

Mindful of Decree N°2012/433 of October 2012 to organize the Ministry of Higher Education

Mindful of Decree N° 93/026 of 19thJanuary 1993 to create Universities

Mindful of Decree N° 93/027 of 19 January 1993 to define provisions common to all University;

Mindful of Decree N° 93/034 of 19th January 1993 on the administrative organization of the University of Buea;

Mindful of Decree N° 2012/333 of 29th June 2012 appointing a Vice-Chancellor and Rectors in some State Universities;

Mindful of Decree N° 2012/578 of 4th December 2012 to appoint the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology;

Mindful of Order N° 17/00056/MINESUP/SG/DAUQ/SDEAC/SE of 25th January 2017 fixing the Calendar of the Competitive Entrance Examinations into the Cameroon State Universities, for the 2017/2018 academic year;

On the proposal of the Vice-Chancellor of University of Buea

HEREBY ORDERS AS FOLLOWS

Article 1: A Competitive Entrance Examination for the selection of one hundred and fifty (150) students for admission into the first year of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) of the University of Buea on the 6th September 2017, for the 2017/2018 academic year.

Article 2: The Competitive Entrance Examination shall be open to Cameroonians and foreigners of both sexes who fulfill one of the following sets of admission requirements:

  1. General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level in at least five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and Physics; and General Certifícate

or

  1. General Certificate of Education Technical Ordinary and Advanced Levels in relevant subjects;

or

  1. Baccalaureat C, D, F2 and F3;

or

  1. Any other certificates recognized as equivalent by the Minister of Higher Education;

Article 3: Candidates who have written one of the above mentioned certificate examinations (Article 2), but have not yet received their results, can register for the entrance examination. However, such candidates will be required to present their results to the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, if they are successful in the entrance examination, before they can be admitted into the Faculty.

Article 4: The allocation of available places to the programs of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology is as follows:

Article 5: Composition of Complete application files: Complete application files must include the following documents:

  1. An application form to be collected from one of the following places:
  1. Certified true copy of the candidate's birth certificate not less than three (3) months old;
  2. Four (4) recent passport-size photographs (4cm x 4cm);
  3. Certified photocopies of the relevant academic certificates;
    1. Receipt of payment of CFAF 20,000 (twenty thousand francs) for the examination, payable to the University of Buea in the following account:

Banque Atlantique Cameroon, Account No: 10034-00040-94063630002-30

Article 6: The examination will take place in four centers which include Buea, Bamenda, Douala and Yaounde.

Article 7: Application files shall be deposited in any of the locations in Article 6 not later than 31 August 2017. Candidates still waiting for the results of the G.C.E or Baccalauréat examinations should indicate the centers where they wrote these examinations.

Article 8: The written examination shall consist of the following papers:

Article 9: The venues of the various centres and the examination schedule will be specified subsequently by a press release made by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Buea.

Article 10: Candidates are required to be at the examination at least one hour before the beginning of the first paper.

Article 11: The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Buea, the Director of University Accreditation and Quality and the ,,'D^fi ^the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the University of Buea shall be responsible, each in his/her own sphere, for the implementation of this op;der which shall be j^giSfefgcFaQd published wherever necessary.
